Xiaomi Mi 4 launching in India early next year

Numerous reports, as well as Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra had revealed that the flagship Mi 4 would be launching in India by the end of the year. But it seems like the Chinese company has missed the date and the flagship device will instead launch in India early next year.
Alongside launching the Redmi Note and the Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi revealed that the Mi 4 will be launching in India early next year. The company didn’t go into specifics, but said that “things have taken a bit longer than we anticipated.”
Announced in July this year, the Mi 4 is not surprisingly a beast of a device. It flaunts a 5-inch full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 441ppi. It is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, and it includes 16GB/64GB internal storage.
The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,080mAh battery, which the company claims can survive for a day and half on normal usage, and can also be charged up to 60 percent in just an hour. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android KitKat wrapped under MIUI 5.0.
At the launch event, Xiaomi also mentioned that it would soon by launching the Mi Band as well as the 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank in India.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S to Go on Sale Possibly for 'Last Time' on Tuesday

Xiaomi will on Tuesday hold the twelfth and possibly final flash sale for its budget Redmi 1S smartphone in India, on Flipkart.
As expected, the Chinese company on Monday launched its Xiaomi Redmi Notephablet and unveiled a 4G-LTE variant. The 3G Redmi Note will be sold through flash sales on Flipkart from December 2 onwards. Therefore, this will be the last week of Redmi 1S flash sales.
Xiaomi stated that it will bring back the budget Xiaomi Redmi 1S, but without giving an exact time frame. It's worth noting that the company had discontinued sales of theXiaomi Mi 3 in India to focus on the Redmi 1S. We can expect that the company is repeating the same strategy with its Redmi Note phablet.
The Chinese company has not yet announced the number of Redmi 1S (Review |Pictures) units, priced at Rs. 5,999 each, that will be available in Tuesday's flash sale.
The Chinese handset maker, in its last tweet about the Redmi 1S, had asked interested buyers to register for the sale. Registration will be open till midnight on Monday. Xiaomi has also confirmed that a complimentary screen protector and Micro-SIM card adapter will be bundled this time. The flash sale on Tuesday will kick off at 2pm IST for registered users.
The Flipkart registration page notes that only one unit will be allowed per registered email ID, and also advises users to log in at least two hours before the flash sale begins.
It's worth pointing out that Flipkart's procedure requires people to just add the handset to their cart for it to be classified as a sale, after which they are given additional time to complete the checkout process.
At the Redmi Note launch, Xiaomi revealed that it has sold over 5,00,000 Mi 3 and Redmi 1S smartphones in India so far, though without giving a breakup of units.
The company's current flagship, the Mi 4, can be expected to be announced during Q1 2015. On being asked about reasons for the delay of the Xiaomi Mi 4 launch in India, representatives said the company is still busy testing the handset and obtaining certifications.

Redmi Note 4g Announced In India For Rs 9,999

Xiaomi is launching the long awaited Redmi Note in India, along with a second variant, the Redmi Note 4G. The phones are priced at ₹8,999 for the 3G variant and ₹9,999 for the 4G LTE variant.

The 3G variant is the one we have seen before. It has a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC, 2GB RAM, 8GB storage space with microSD expansion, 5.5-inch 720p LCD, dual SIM support (3G + 2G), 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera and a 3100mAh battery.
The Redmi Note 4G is slightly different. Instead of the MediaTek processor, the 4G variant runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8928 SoC. It has dual band LTE support and it has been tuned to support Indian bands (TDD-2300 MHz & FDD-1800 MHz). Unlike the 3G model, the Redmi Note 4G is single SIM only. Also, while the 3G model runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the 4G variant will be on Android 4.4 KitKat, with MIUI on top.
You can register for the Redmi Note on Flipkart starting tomorrow and the phone will go on sale on December 2 through the usual flash sales. The Redmi Note 4G will go on sale later by end of December.
This time, Xiaomi has also partnered with Airtel to sell the 4G variant through its own stores. Registrations for the 4G variant will begin by mid-December.

Xiaomi Announces Redmi Note 3g Launch Price In India At Rs 8999

After introducing the Mi 3 and Redmi 1S, Xiaomi has now launched its third smartphone in India - the Redmi Note. The company, currently, has launched the 3G version of the Redmi Note smartphone in India at a price of Rs 8,999. The 4G version will be introduced in India soon, says Xiaomi.
The Redmi Note will be available exclusively via Flipkart starting December 2. The phone will, however, be up pre-order from November 25 (starting 6PM).
The Xiaomi Redmi Note is a 5.5-inch smartphone and has an octa-core MTK 6592 1.7GHz processor, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Its display resolution is the same 1280x720 as in the Redmi 1S.
The Redmi Note has 2GB RAM and an internal memory of 8GB (expandable upto 32GB). The dual-SIM Redmi Note comes with a 3100mAh battery.
Xiaomi, seen as China's affordable answer to Apple, replaced Samsung as China's largest smartphone vendor in the second quarter, according to data from Canalys.
In India the company saw more than 1,00,000 people pre-register for a supply of 10,000 phones when it launched in July.
Xiaomi, which sells its phones exclusively through e-commerce website Flipkart.com in India, is looking to find a foothold in a market that has at least 80 different phone companies fighting it out for market share.

1. Disable App Notifications

Bugged by annoying app notifications that just keep coming? If you don’t know already, these app notifications also drain your phone’s battery. If you want to turn them off, and you are on Jelly Bean 4.1 and above, here’s how:

Want to keep track of how far your usage is from your monthly mobile data limit? If you have ICS and above, there is a feature which lets you keep track of how much of the quota you have left.
  1. Head over to Settings > Data Usage.
  2. Set your data limit by dragging the orange line to reflect your monthly quota.
  3. Set your data usage cycle based on when your "month" starts and ends, and you’re done.
You will be alerted once you hit the limit you have set. Note that the tracked data usage of your phone may vary slightly than your carrier’s tracking.
